CM Punk vs Umaga (Extreme Rules 2009)
After his train wreck of a World Heavyweight Championship run on Raw in 2008, CM Punk was sent pressing to Smackdown by means of the 2009 WWE Draft in April. The change in view permitted Punk to get the spotlight he merited as opposed to being dominated by top-level ability, for example, John Cena, Batista, Shawn Michaels and others. His first enemy on Friday nights was Umaga who was falling off a long rest from WWE TV. The two crashed in their first ever one-on-one match at Judgment Day in Chicago where Umaga soundly vanquished the then-Mr. Cash in the Bank.
Notwithstanding beating Punk, Umaga kept on setting his sights on The Second City Saint in the weeks that emulated, testing him to a Samoan Strap match at Extreme Rules.
